Welcome to the official website of The Young Animators' Club. We focus on bridging the gap between farmers and the outside world.
We leverage on the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) devises- computers, internet, mobile phone and the likes. Young Animators (secondary school students of farmers' parentage between the age of 13 and 20) involved in farming activities are trained and empowered to use these devises on how to disseminate improved farm practices to farmers with whom they are trained to work for the overall goal of increasing farm productivity.
The rural communities remain an important sector in agrarian nations of Africa.
Apart from the fact that a large majority of the people live in the rural areas, they are predominantly farmers who have very little access to the outside world, hence are not able to sell their farm produce at good prices.
Despite the availability of many on-shelf adaptable research results waiting to be used by farmers to transform the agricultural sector, many farmers are still unable to gain access to such.
The Young Animators' Club helps farmers overcome these challenges by providing timely and quality information to the farmers through the Young Animators using ICT devices.
We notify the Young Animators of the latest trends in farm practices who in turn communicate the information to his / her farmer.
With our network of Participating Academic and Research institutions around the world, we are kept abreast of the latest trend in Agriculture.
We encourage the young and old to use ICT for personal and business development by providing adequate I.T. training to our members.
